Performance characteristics of PE

⑦ Low breathability. This characteristic makes PE have important applications in the packaging field, such as some food packaging using PE material, which can effectively prevent oxygen from entering and extend the shelf life of food.
⑧ Extremely low water absorption. PE products hardly absorb moisture, and their performance will not be significantly affected by water absorption even if they are placed in a humid environment for a long time. For example, outdoor PE canopies will not become soft or deformed due to water absorption even if they are exposed to rainwater for a long time.
⑨ The aging resistance is average. Although PE itself is relatively stable, it still undergoes aging under long-term environmental factors such as light, heat, and oxygen, leading to a decline in performance. For example, PE plastic fences used outdoors for a long time will gradually become brittle and fade after several years of wind and sun exposure.
⑩ Has a certain degree of self-lubricating properties. This enables it to reduce wear when applied in some components that require sliding or friction. For example, PE sliders in some mechanical devices run smoothly and can reduce energy consumption and equipment wear.
⑪ Good compatibility with other materials. It can be mixed with many additives, fillers, etc. to make composite materials with better performance. For example, adding fillers such as calcium carbonate to PE can improve its hardness and rigidity while reducing costs; Adding antioxidants can improve its aging resistance.
⑫ The density is relatively low. Compared to some metal materials and other engineering plastics, PE has a lower density, which makes its products lighter in weight. Outdoor furniture made of PE material is easy to transport and move, bringing convenience to users.
