High density polyethylene (HDPE) for building drainage

The density of HDPE is usually between 0.941-0.965g/cm ³, which gives it good structural stability and the ability to withstand certain pressures without deformation, making it suitable for use in building drainage pipeline systems.
The Vicat softening temperature is generally around 125-135 ℃, which means that in higher temperature environments, pipes made of HDPE material for building drainage can still maintain their shape and performance, and will not be damaged due to high drainage temperatures. The melt flow rate (MFR) of HDPE used in building drainage is usually controlled within a certain range, such as 0.1-10g/min. A suitable melt flow rate ensures good flowability of the material during processing into pipes, ensuring the quality of pipe forming. HDPE material has strong chemical corrosion resistance, and common chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts have minimal corrosive effects on it. In building drainage, it can maintain stable performance in the face of sewage containing various components for a long time. The inner wall of the drainage pipe made of this material is smooth, and its surface roughness coefficient is generally less than 0.01. The resistance of water flowing inside the pipe is small, which can effectively improve drainage efficiency and reduce the risk of blockage.
HDPE used for building drainage has excellent impact resistance and can maintain good toughness even in low temperature environments. According to relevant standards, the drop hammer impact test was conducted, and the damage rate of the sample was extremely low at the specified temperature and impact energy. The tensile strength of HDPE is relatively high, generally reaching over 20MPa, which makes the drainage pipes made of it less prone to cracking and other problems when subjected to external tension, ensuring the safety of the drainage system. This material has good weather resistance and has been verified through natural exposure tests. When used for a long time under different climatic conditions, its physical and chemical properties change very little, ensuring the long-term stable operation of building drainage systems. HDPE material for building drainage has a long service life. According to actual engineering experience and relevant research, under normal use, the service life of its drainage pipes can reach more than 50 years, greatly reducing the maintenance cost of building drainage systems.
HDPE material is relatively lightweight, with a weight per unit length that is 30% -50% lighter than traditional cast iron drainage pipes. This can effectively reduce the labor intensity of construction personnel during installation, while also facilitating transportation and installation operations.
