Density of polyethylene
1、 Physical properties: Polyethylene is a thermoplastic polyester material, and its main component is polyvinyl alcohol. The structure of different types of polyethylene varies and can be divided into low-density polyethylene (LDPE), ethylene ethylene ethylene copolymer (EVAT), ethylene ethylene ethylene ethylene copolymer (EEVE), and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). These different polyethylene structures also have different physical properties, among which density is the most important. The density of LDPE is between 0.9150.940g/cm3, the density of EVAT is between 0.8750.900g/cm3, the density of EEVE is between 0.8350.860g/cm3, and the density of HDPE is between 0.9450.970g/cm3. 2. The impact on the application of polyethylene is due to the different densities of polyethylene, which will affect its application in different fields, especially in food packaging, construction industry, and electronics industry. (1) In terms of food packaging, food safety requirements are very strict, so the density of polyethylene is particularly important in this field. It is generally recommended to use ethylene ethylene ethylene copolymer (EEVE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), both of which have a density between 0.8350.970 g/cm3, sufficient to meet food safety needs. (2) In the construction industry, due to the requirement for strong structural integrity of building materials, the density of polyethylene (LDPE) is also crucial. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) should be used as much as possible, with a density between 0.9150.940 g/cm3, which is beneficial for saving materials, reducing weight, and ensuring the stability of buildings.(3) In the electronics industry, polyethylene has high density requirements because electronic devices require high precision and are easy to weld. Only polyethylene with good precision and weldability can meet the requirements of the electronics industry. It is recommended to use ethylene ethylene ethylene ethylene copolymer (EEVE) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE), both with densities between 0.8350.970g/cm3.
3、 In addition to its density, polyethylene also has good properties such as acid and alkali resistance, oil resistance, friction resistance, and high insulation. These characteristics make polyethylene widely used in fields such as electronics, construction, and food. Its thickness, strength, and insulation also vary greatly, and the thickness, strength, and insulation of polyethylene can be customized according to user requirements. 4. Conclusion: Polyethylene is a highly malleable and strong material with extensive applications in fields such as food packaging, construction, and electronics. The density of polyethylene is the main determining factor of its physical properties, and different polyethylene structures have different densities, which will affect its applications in different fields. In order to better understand the properties of polyethylene and select and use more suitable polyethylene materials, it is very important to study the density and other properties of polyethylene.
