Cross linked polyethylene density
Cross linked polyethylene is a high-density polyethylene with higher strength and hardness than traditional polyethylene. The density of cross-linked polyethylene is usually between 0.93-0.97g/cm, while the density of traditional polyethylene is only 0.91-0.93g/cm.The high density of cross-linked polyethylene gives it better wear resistance, cutting resistance, and impact resistance, making it commonly used in the manufacture of high demand pipelines, wires and cables, automotive components, etc.
The density of cross-linked polyethylene can be adjusted through different processes and additives. For example, by changing the degree of crosslinking and using specific crosslinking agents, the density of crosslinked polyethylene can be increased. In addition, adding catalysts and fillers can also alter the density and other properties of cross-linked polyethylene.
In summary, the high density of cross-linked polyethylene makes it an important material widely used in the industrial field.
